AUGUST CROSSING, INC.

WEB ACCESSIBILITY STATEMENT

Last Updated: June 13, 2026

At August Crossing, Inc., inclusion, dignity, and care are at the heart of everything we do. Our mission is to build a physical sanctuary that welcomes every individual, and we are equally committed to ensuring that our digital spaces are accessible, welcoming, and easy to navigate for all users—including individuals with disabilities.

Our Commitment to Accessibility

We strive to continually improve the user experience for everyone by applying the relevant accessibility standards. We are actively working to align our website with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA success criteria, established by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive disabilities, helping to ensure the internet is a more equitable space for all.

Accessibility Features on Our Site

As we develop and expand our digital presence during our establishing phase, we are implementing the following best practices:

  • Alternative Text: Providing descriptive text alternative (alt text) for meaningful images and architectural renderings so screen-reader users can experience our vision.

  • Color Contrast: Choosing typography and background colors with a high level of contrast to ensure readability for users with low vision or color blindness.

  • Responsive Design: Designing pages to be fully functional and scannable across various devices, including desktops, tablets, and smartphones.

  • Keyboard Navigation: Working to ensure that all interactive elements, navigation menus, and form fields (such as our email subscription boxes) can be fully navigated using a keyboard alone.

  • Clear Hierarchy: Structuring our content logically with clear headings (H2, H3) to assist assistive technologies and screen readers.

Ongoing Efforts

Web accessibility is an ongoing journey. As a growing nonprofit, we regularly review our website and digital assets to identify and fix potential barriers. We collaborate closely with our digital design team to ensure that new features, downloadable guides (such as our Sanctuary Design Blueprint), and media content meet our high standards of digital inclusion.

We Value Your Feedback

We want to ensure that our digital haven is completely barrier-free. If you experience any difficulty accessing our content, downloading our resources, or navigating our website, please let us know. We are committed to providing the information you need through alternative formats if necessary.
